The Mumbai saga is the latest drama in the underworld, which tries to dispel the smell of mothballs that essentially make a film like this. But the only new idea in this is that the biggest gangster in town is a politician.
His name is Bhau, played by Mahesh Manjrekar, and he resembles a certain nativist politician who promoted the Marathi cause. Bhau is the patron of Amartya Rao (John Abraham), a vegetable seller who exchanges tomatoes for weapons when ruler Dom Gaitonde (Amol Gupte) threatens his younger brother, Arjun.
